Our donation forms collect only the personal information needed to process payments and issue tax receipts.

We may collect limited technical data via cookies, Google Analytics and Google reCAPTCHA to improve website performance and maintain security.

If you interact with us on platforms like Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn:

  • we collect the information you provide
  • these platforms may store your data overseas
  • each platform manages its own privacy practices.

Anonymity

You can remain anonymous or use a pseudonym when making general enquiries, providing feedback or making a complaint. However, identification is required when accessing our services, applying for jobs or requesting a tax-deductible receipt. 

How we use and share your information

  1. With consent

We only use your personal information to deliver our services and operate our organisation. We may also use de-identified data (which cannot identify you) for reporting and improvement.

We usually only share your information with your consent.

  1. Without consent

In limited situations, we may share information without consent:

  • if there is a serious threat to someone’s safety
  • it is required by law
  • to protect children and young people
  • where it is legally permitted to support access to domestic violence services.
  1. Sending information overseas

Some of our systems and tools (e.g. cloud services, Google Analytics, social media) may involve data being stored overseas. We take reasonable steps to ensure providers comply with Australian privacy standards. 

Direct Marketing

We only send marketing communications if you’ve agreed to receive them. You can opt out at any time. 

Keeping your information safe

We take security seriously and use safeguards such as:

  • secure storage (physical and digital)
  • password protection and access controls
  • secure disposal of data when no longer needed. 

Quality, access and correction of your information

We aim to keep your information accurate and up to date. You have the right to request access to your personal information and ask us to correct it if it is not accurate. When you may a request for access we will respond as quickly as possible, within 30 days.
